My New Ward

I started going to the singles branch on July 12th. I really love it. It is amazing how quiet the meetings are! The spirit is so strong there, especially when President Simpson speaks. I felt so uplifting and spiritually renewed my first week. I knew it was where I was supposed to be.

On July 26th I was the substitute teacher in Relief Society. It was my first time teaching an actual lesson and my first time with adults. I was a little nervous at the beginning and again at the end but all in all I thought it went okay.

I had a meeting with President Simpson after church and was waiting for my turn. The girl who came out of is office said how much she enjoyed my lesson. I thanked her and told her it was the first time I had ever taught a lesson. President Simpson heard me say that and when I got into his office he told me how impressed her was with my lesson and that he had thought I was a return missionary. I thought that was the most wonderful complement!!!

This last Sunday, August 2nd, I was called to be the 4th week Relief Society teacher. I am really excited for my new calling, especially since I get to teach from the general conference issue of the ensign.

That is really neat, Lanie!!! I think that the 4th Sunday lessons are my favorite because they come from General Conference! We miss you and are glad to hear that everything is going good in your life!

Lanie, I sure do love you and I am so proud of you!! I have pretty much been a teacher since I got home from my mission and I still get nervous every time I get up to teach. The general conference lessons should be fun to teach. Good luck!!!

Lanie, that is so cool about your calling, I still have never taught relief society or adults in church, I think I would freak out! Glad it went well for you!
